About me
My name is Dmytro Karpenko; online I am Apostle. I talk to people who fought against Ukraine, and I put those conversations on my channel.
I have been in media since 2019, and I began talking to russian prisoners of war and to their relatives in 2022 — working alongside the Interior Ministry project “Search for Your Own”. The nickname is not mine: the wife of a russian prisoner called me Apostle on a phone call, and it stuck.
Today this is daily work: interviews with prisoners and conversations with those who came over to Ukraine’s side — the RVC, the Freedom of Russia Legion, the Siberian Battalion. I was the first to publish conversations like these — together with Volodymyr Zolkin. With him I also run the “Dmytro and Volodymyr Exchange Fund” — the project the exchange fund keeps being replenished for, so that more Ukrainian defenders come home.
Every conversation is voluntary. I do not press anyone and I promise nothing in return for answers. Where I speak for myself, that is Apostle’s Thoughts; everything else can be checked against the episode itself, and the episodes stay on the channel. And not only on my word: in the “Press” section there are 34 publications about me, from Ukrainian outlets to international ones, with links to the originals.
